Eligibility Criteria
Investment visa is a work permit for foreign entrepreneurs who wish to relocate to Hong Kong either through investing in a local business or establishing their own business in Hong Kong.
Documents Required
For the visa to be granted it is critical to show the business will contribute to the Hong Kong economy via turnover, new technology or create new jobs for Hong Kongers.
For new business - A two year business plan along with a forecast of the profit-and-loss statement, cash flow statement and balance sheet to demonstrate the feasibility of the business.
Investing in an existing business - The profit-and-loss statement and balance sheet showing the business turnover and profit in the previous year is required.
Proof of personal and companies financial resources - Bank statements, audited financial report and proof of sources of funding is required.
Documentary proof showing the amount of capital investment
The number of jobs created locally
Introduction of new technology or skills (if applicable), contributing to the long-term development of Hong Kong as a knowledge-based economy.
Additional Details
A local sponsor is required which could be a company or an individual.
The standard processing time is 4 to 6 weeks
Once visa is granted, it is usually valid for 24 months
Dependant visa can be applied for. The dependants visa is linked to that of the applicant.
